Utah

Before we start with the trip to UT, here is Eliana right now...

So we went to Utah last weekend for Dave's sister, Becky's sealing. We had to wake up early to get to the airport and baby girl was a little tired from it.

She was awesome on all our flights to and from UT.

While in the Alexandria airport we saw Corbin Bernsen, who plays Henry on Psych. He was nice enough to allow Dave to take a picture with him.

Who would've thought an actor would be on our flight to Houston from Alexandria, LA

That evening we went to dinner with 2 of my best friends from college. We hadn't seen each other in over 3 years. It was so much fun.

Thus ends my picture taking from the weekend ( and I even stole the last picture from Jamie's blog) but we had lots of fun with Becky and Joseph and are so happy we were able to be there to support them.

2 month check-up

Eliana had her 2 month well baby check-up today. It went well and she is doing great. She weighs 10lb 6oz (21st percentile), 22 inches (17th percentile) tall, and her head circumference is 15 inches (15th percentile). She also took an oral vaccine, which she drank just fine, and got 3 shots. The shots didn't go so well. She screamed for about 5 min and finally calmed down enough to nurse. She fell asleep on the way home, but woke up when I brought her into the house. I moved her to the swing to take pics of her battle wounds.
As you can see she is a little out of it. 2 shots on the right, 1 shot on the left

Close up of her band aid

After I took the pictures I bundled her up and put her in her crib, she was asleep again before I left the room, which is not normal for her. Normally if she takes a 10 min nap in the car she won't go back to sleep for at least an hour, but those vaccines are making her drowsy.

Here are some other pics from the last week.

She can grasp her rattle now. If I put it in her right hand
she just holds it, but if I put it in her left hand it goes straight to the mouth.

A close up of trying to eat her rattle

Fell asleep playing with it

but then she went to rub her eyes and it attacked her

And finally here is the 2 month "watch me grow" picture
I happened to catch a really great smile
Daddy turned on a Bob Dylan song and she really liked it

A Day in the Life of Eliana: 2 months!

Another month has passed in Eliana's short life. Before we get into her day, here are a few pics I've been meaning to post for awhile now.

She is getting really good at picking her head up, and
will stay on her tummy a lot longer than before

I went to check on her during her nap the other day and
she had wiggled her hands out and was holding her binki in

She didn't even seem to notice that I gave her her binki upside down

Eliana was so tired she fell asleep sitting on the couch

This is how she sits on Daddy's lap while he burps her

Smiles for Mommy in the morning

I was burping Eliana and she was sooo tired

And now on to Eliana's Day! She has definitely grown and changed a lot in the last month, but at the same time her days don't seem that different, a lot of sleeping and eating.

7:00 Time to wake up! Spent some time with Mommy in her room just talking and playing. Mom forgot to take pictures because she was still super tired.

8:15 Mommy put me in my swing while she made breakfast and I fell asleep.

9:00 It was just a short nap, then I was all smiles again!

11:00 Nap time

Mom turned on my mobile, I really like to watch it

12:00 When I woke up mom decided it was time for a diaper change and time to get dressed.

12:30 I ate and while mom thought I was going to play for a bit, I had other plans

12:30 So she laid me down in my crib again.

3:30 I took a really long nap and when I woke up, I had to poop and Mom had to take a picture

4:15 Time to make dinner, I've started helping Mommy

4:30 I can't sit in my chair very long yet, so when I got tired Mom moved me to my swing.

6:00 Daddy's home! Lets play

Chewing on Mom's finger

7:00 It's bedtime. I got bundled up and ate again and went right to sleep (after an hour or so)

Sorry I wasn't as good at taking pictures this month as last. In other news, Eliana's 2 month check-up is next Tuesday, so I will have a growth update then. She is almost laughing, I'm hoping she will figure it out by the time all her grandparents get here next week.
