A Day in the Life of Eliana: 7 months!

First a message from Eliana:

nejjmswxQA>a,knklnhvyguhldxvcnmmmmmmkjmmmmmmwqwqsdddddddddddddddddd

Can you believe little Eli is 7 months old? I can't. The time has flown by and she has grown so much. She is sitting up like a pro and getting up on her hands and knees, but has no idea what to do next. I imagine by next month we will have a crawler! She now eats in her highchair now and she seems to really like that. Her newest "word" is uh-oh. It is very cute and will probably become a favorite word in the next few years. She still isn't sleeping through the night, she usually wakes up twice, about 12 and 4 and then up for the day at 7. For her 7m birthday, she woke up only once at 4, but she then woke up a little early at 6:30

6:30- Woke up very happy and played in my crib for awhile before I was ready to get up.

7:00- Ready to get out of bed now, get a fresh diaper and snuggle with mom

7:30- Time for breakfast! I love eating. This morning I had rice cereal and half a banana, yum.

7:45- After breakfast I get to roll around and play on the floor

I can pick up my binky
Such a ham

8:45- I am super tired so mom puts me down a little early. I'm trying to learn to sleep with my arms out of my swaddle. Sometimes it works pretty well, sometimes I wake myself up to soon (like this time)

9:30-Woke up from my nap way too soon and cranky mommy spent the next half hour trying to get me back to sleep.

10:00- I win the battle of nap time and get to come out and play.

Reading my Nemo book
It's my favorite book right now

A friend from church brought a bunch of baby food that her baby
wasn't going to eat. Lots of cereal and meat baby food. I decided
to check it out.

Mom decided to clean it up a bit...I thought is was
even more fun in the bin

11:45- Nap time again, we will see if this one goes better...

1:00- Wake up happy!

1:30- Lunch time! Carrots are super yummy.

and I still really like Gatorade

2:00- Mommy and I catch a lizard under a cup. It was super fast but I blocked it from coming back into the living room

2:30- Nap time...again...I'm tired, but I don't understand why I need to nap so much, I'd rather play

4:30- I took a good long nap and I'm ready to play, play, play

4:35- Mommy and I go outside to check the mail. We try to go outside at least to check the mail everyday. I really like to look around and see the trees and clouds and anything else that goes by.
This is part of my Halloween costume
Mommy was sewing while I napped and wanted
to try it on me to see how it fit.

4:45- Mommy had to hang up Daddy's uniforms today so I helped

5:00- Mommy cooked up some peaches for me while I napped and I helped her blend them up.

5:15- Dinner time. I had Barley cereal with some chicken mixed in then some plums. Mommy discovered if she sings songs while we eat I don't get so bored and distracted. I'm going to learn my ABC's while I eat!
5:30- Time to roll and try to crawl on the floor again.

6:00- I'm getting fussy and tired again, but bedtime isn't for another hour, so Mommy takes me outside to swing.

Sometimes my sunglasses are too tight and
leave marks on my face

6:30- I want to talk to someone online. First we try Grandmommy on skype, but she is busy, so we talk to Grandma on facebook chat. I had a lot to say to her. I also wanted to start my blog post for the day.
7:00- Time for bed, it was a fun day full of lots of excitement, but now it's time to dream sweet dreams

6 Month Well Baby

Eliana went to the Dr yesterday for a check up, shots, and a hearing test. It was a long morning, but she was very pleasant and I'm glad we got it all taken care of at once. So here are her stats.

4 months:
Weight:12lb 5oz
Height: 24 inches
Head: 40.1 cm

6 months:
14lb 2oz
25 3/4 inches
41.7 cm

She is in the 12% for weight, 33% for height, and 21% for her head circumference.

She did great with her shots. She cried for just a few minutes, she was done as soon as we left the room.

Then she had to go downstairs for her hearing test. She passed just fine, though it did take a few times the ear probe wasn't picking everything up. Eliana fell asleep during the tests so she was very still and very quite.

When we got home she took a good 2 1/2 hour nap, but has since been a little feverish and cranky :( She didn't sleep well at all last night because of it (and because it was chilly dropped down into the 50s overnight, she doesn't like the cold), but she is taking good naps today and seems a little happier :)

A Day in the Life of Eliana: 6 months!

I have a lot of blogging to catch up on, but I need to start with Eliana's day for Grandparents.

6 months! Half a year! Our little girl is growig up so fast. New this month, she is starting to figure out how to move to get that toy she wants over there. She is eating 3-4 solid meals a day and loves everything we give her, except peas...yuck. She can sit up by herself if she is balanced just right, but she can hold herself in a sitting postion using her hands and she can also pull herself into sitting up from having her torso flat on her feet in front of her. Shehas gotten way better at standing too. She can hold onto something, mom, dad, coffee table, pew at church...you get the idea, and stand there for quite some time. She is as talkative as ever, she can say ma ma and da da (not that she uses them to call who she wants, they are just noises) ba ba and clicks her tounge, but her favorite is her gurrgle/growl aka her girly growl. She loves playing both with mom or dad and by herself. I finally switched her into her 6m clothes just 3 days before her 6m b-day, not because her 3m were too small, but because I was tired of them and wanted new clothes.

This weekend wasn't just her 6 month birthday, Grandma and Grandpa came to visit too, making this an extra special Day in the Life of Eliana...don't worry Grandmommy and Grandaddy will be here for her 7 month!

6:30 With Grandma and Grandpa sleepig in m room I'm sleeping in mom and dad's closet in the play pen...this was a first and so I of course woke up a lot at night and decided it was time to play early.
This picture is actually from Sunday morning

7:00 Breakfast! Grandma fed me Barley and Pears. I love pears

7:30 Play time
Playing with the quilt ball Auntie Patty made for me.
The flash on Grandma's camera surprises me a lot

9:00 Nap time and I slept so well, I slept for 2 hours

11:00 Grandpa was watching football when I got up from my nap, so I watched my first football game ever. I liked it there was lots of red.

Football is pretty

12:00 Grandma fed me lunch too. I had Carrots.

1:00 I'm learning to drink from a cup. I like it a lot. Mommy tries to get me to drink it sitting up, but since I'm not great at sitting up yet I prefer to lay down.

2:00 I was ready for another nap. This time I slept till 5:00.

5:00 When I got up it was time to change clothes and go out to dinner. I got to wear a new outfit from Aunt Becky so Grandma took a few pics to show it off.
Bear Butt

I can blow bubbles!

5:30 Dinner at the restaurant. Mom brought me sweet potatoes, which I gobbled right up and I tried a little of Grandma's potatoes.
Playing after my dinner while everyone else waited for theirs

Playing in the mirror by our table after dinner.
I like that baby.

6:30 We left the restaurant and went to the grocery store to but some dessert.

7:30 Ate bit of oatmeal to get me through the night and then it was off to bed.

8:00 Bed Time. I had such a nice day and it was extra special with Grandma and Grandpa.

A Day in the Life of Eliana: 5 months!

Wow Eliana is 5 months old. Can you believe it? I can't. She is growing so fast, though all her baby friends are starting to outgrow her. She may be 5 months but she is still comfortably wearing 3m clothing, and her 6m clothes are still ridiculously big on her. She is rolling onto her belly all the time and starting to figure out how to roll back. She is an expert at scooting backwards, though that is not the direction she intends to go. I'm starting to find her stuck half under the couch (or coffee table) on a regular basis. She is eating one solid meal a day. She has had rice and oatmeal (she prefers oatmeal) carrots, apples, and bananas. She has tasted watermelon, bell peppers, peaches, potatoes, and I'm sure a lot more that I'm not thinking of right now. In the last month I tried to train her to sleep unswaddled, but after 3 weeks of bad naps and a constantly fussy baby I gave up and for the past 2 weeks (or so) she has been taking great naps and is calmer and not nearly as fussy. Now lets see what she is up to today.

8:00 Slept in this morning, by the way I'm only waking up once at night to eat now (sometimes twice) and I still sleep for about 12 hours total at night.

9:00 Despite sleeping in I was ready for my nap at the usual time, and I slept great didn't wake up till noon.
*Note the sweat spot from her head, this is why I wanted to unswaddle her.
Her swaddle is breathable, but it is so hot here.

I give Mommy big smiles when I wake up from a good nap, but when
she pulled out the camera, I made this face.

12:00 I was super hungry when I woke up, Mommy made me a bowel of smooshed bananas. I'd never had bananas before.
Face after first bite.

Second bite

Face after second bite, I like bananas!

Bananas are really yummy :)
When I finished all my bananas I got to play with my spoon.

12:30 After all that eating and a little bit of playing I needed a little pick me up nap, so I took a short 30 min snooze.

1:00 Now that I was rested again I was ready to play.

I love my Elephant.
2:30 Play time in my Jumperoo.
I can spin this butterfly.

And I can jump, but I'm still not quite tall enough so I jump on a binder
to give me a little boost

Mommy put my kitty on my jumperoo.

Hi Mommy!

3:00 Time for another good nap. Slept from 3-5 when Mommy had to wake me up

5:00 More play time!!! Mom pulled out a new toy for me today, I love it, I can chew on it and when I squeeze it it squeaks.

6:00 Daddy came home from work and Mommy made dinner, I played on the floor and found the pole in my jumperoo, it was so interesting.
*she was so interested in the bar she wouldn't even look at me when I was talking to her

7:00 A little bit of SO BIG! before bed
Who's so big?
Eliana is SO BIG!
